There is much more to setting a book than just writing a word document. Books come in different sizes, there are different styles of binding, some books are image heavy, some have no images.
Margins and bleeds have to be accurate and, for Kindle, the finished book has to be readable by different size readers.
Then there is the cover to consider.
eBooks are becoming more fashionable – they are the future of on line publishing. They can be read on just about any device from eBook readers to Ipads, laptops to tablets but they do have to be formatted correctly to give a good reader experience.
Many authors find publishing just too much, in fact many books remain unpublished for just that reason.
Amazon and Kindle
Your book is now selling as print on demand at Amazon, on Kindle, and as an ebook. The next step is to have it printed and distributed to retailers. We use a Spanish printer renowned for his quality and service. We have used him since 2006 and would not go elsewhere.
Setting a book can be complex, especially if the book contains a lot of images, we use Adobe InDesign to format the content giving a professional consistent look. The cover is designed using Adobe Photoshop to give a high quality glossy finish
The Visit Andalucia travalogues are standard 9ins x 6ins with between 80 and 144 pages. Some interior images are set within the margins, some are edge to edge and some cover two facing pages. A number of techniques have been used to format standard paragraphed text and text superimposed on images. The cover is an edge to edge image with full bleed designed for perfect binding with a spine with a gloss finish.
